Hello from Japan!
I decided that writing a blog would be a lot easier than answering everyone's questions in separate conversations and constantly repeating myself. Ha.
This is my second day in Japan. I landed on the 12th of September, in the afternoon around 3ish and then spent the rest of the evening traveling on the train to the training center in Omiya. I had slept only two hours the night before getting on the plane, hadn't slept at all on the plane. Nor did I sleep the first night due to some anxiety about being here, and not knowing what the crap I'm doing. The thought of spending a year here seemed daunting in the dead of a silent night.
Happily, after spending yesterday in my first full day of training, I'm feeling excited about working for the company, and optimistic about my new life here. I find teaching fun and interesting so far, and I'm excited to learn more about it. I'm also pretty excited to get my company business cards and a sweet "tricked out name tag". Hahaha.
After yesterday's training I crashed and slept for nearly 12 hours so now I'm feeling absolutely terrific, and today is a day off so I've enjoyed my morning leisurely since about 6:30 am (which is 14 hours ahead of US central time), having some breakfast, studying some Japanese, showering, and now catching up with some of you back in the States.
I'm looking forward to sharing my experiences with you, and I hope you'll keep up with me. I'll do my best to update frequently and I'll be sure to post pictures as often as I take them.
I miss you all already!!

way to sell out to the man.
